Biography
Michael S. Cole, M.D.
- I was born in Harrison, Arkansas, USA, on 28 April 1955. I married
Jeannie Johns in Searcy, Arkansas, on 16 August 1975.
Daughter Angelique was born in 1979 and son Steven was born in 1981.
- After twelve years of quality education in the public schools of Harrison,
Arkansas, I graduated fourth in my class in 1973 from Harrison High School. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in
Chemistry from Harding University in 1976. Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)
was earned in 1980 from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
I completed a residency at Fort Smith's Area Health Education Center
and was certified by the American Board of Family Practice (now American Board of Family Medicine) in 1983. The degree
of Fellow was awarded in 1984 from the American
Academy of Family Physicians.
- I received a commission in the United
States Navy in 1976. I attended medical school on a Navy Health Professions Scholarship. While serving at U.S. Naval Hospital, Naples, Italy,
I was promoted to Lieutenant Commander in 1984. An honorable discharge was
granted at U.S. Naval Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee, in 1987.
