Dice

When the Roman soldiers "cast lots" for the clothing of Jesus Christ at His crucifixion, it is likely they used dice similar to these found in Pompeii. Not unlike today, six-sided dice, marked 1 through 6, were used for games of chance in the first century.
Combs, hairpins, mirrors, and jewelry from the first century are also among the everyday items on display at the National Museum.
