Chimala Mission Hospital

The hospital was built in a square with an open courtyard in the center. Washed sheets were spread out on the grass to dry. This photo was taken on the southeast side of the complex.
In 1971 it cost $65,000 each year to run the Chimala Mission Hospital when it was fully supported by churches of Christ contributions. In 1980 the Tanzanian government helped pay salaries.
