NOSEBLEEDS

Is the bleeding uncontrollable?
Has there been recurrent bleeding for more than 7 days?
Are you having fever or other signs of infection?
Do you have high blood pressure?

ACTIVITIES:  To stop an active nosebleed, squeeze the nose between the thumb and forefinger with firm pressure for a full five minutes. Use a vaporizer (humidifier) if the room air is too dry. Don't rub or pick at the nose.

MEDICATIONS:  Lubricate the inside of the nose with a little Vasoline a few times daily. Take over-the-counter antihistamines and/or decongestants if you have a runny or stopped up nose (and you have no problems with blood pressure or prostate).

DIET:  You should drink plenty of water and juices.  You may eat anything you desire.

CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR FOR ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:

1. The bleeding cannot be controlled.
2. You see no improvement after a few days.
3. You have trouble breathing.
4. You development sinus pain or headache.

If there is also a COLD, then see elsewhere.
