CUTS
(LACERATIONS)

Is the cut on the face?
Is there uncontrolled bleeding?
Are the edges of the skin gaping open?
Did anything get in the wound that can't be wash out?
Does it appear to have gotten infected?


ACTIVITIES:  Clean the wound with soap and water.  Hold firm pressure over the wound with a clean cloth till the bleeding stops (up to 5 minutes is typical).

MEDICATIONS:  You need a Tetanus Shot if it has been more than 5 years since your last one.  You may take Tylenol or Motrin for minor pain.

DIET:  You may eat anything you desire.

CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR FOR ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:

1. You cannot control bleeding.
2. Any infection develops.
3. The wound does not seem to be healing properly.
