- I was fortunate to be born into a home with Christian parents. At a relatively young age I became convinced that the Bible is the Word of God and that Jesus Christ has all authority in religious matters (Matthew 28:18). After understanding the consequences of disobeying God, I repented of my sinful behavior (Acts 2:38; 17:30). In 1967, after confessing my belief that Jesus Christ is the Son of God (Acts 8:37), I was baptized (immersed, or "buried with Christ") in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit for the forgiveness of my sins (Mark 16:16, Romans 6:3-4). I was immediately added by God to Christ's church (Acts 2:47). I have been a faithful member of the church of Christ since that time and I am determined to remain faithful to Jesus Christ the remainder of my life (Revelation 2:10). By the grace of God I will spend eternity in Heaven (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17).
- In 1980 I worked at Chimala Mission Hospital in Tanzania, East Africa. I led twenty annual, short-term medical mission teams from West-Ark Church of Christ to Guyana,
South America, in 1991-2010, for Partners in Progress and Operation Guyana. I led two teams
to Christmas Island, Republic of Kiribati, in 1992-93, and a team to the
Republic of Vanuatu in 1995 for Pacific Islands Medical Missions. My wife has accompanied me on nearly every trip.

- On 6 August 2000 I was chosen to serve as an elder for the West-Ark Church of Christ in Fort Smith, Arkansas, USA. In 1995 I began serving as the Webminister for the church's website. I was a deacon from 1989 to 2000. My wife was the director of One-A-Chord from 1987 to 1992. She served as Vacation Bible School director in 1989-1995.
