Is the nation better off?     The wise King Solomon once wrote that it is proper behavior which brings glory to a nation, but sin brings disgrace. In 1831, Alexis de Tocqueville observed that America was great because America was good.     It has not been our wealth that has made America great.     The next time you hear someone say, "But the country is better off financially," I suggest that you ask them, "Is the nation better off morally?"
