Nile Mosaic

This well-preserved mosaic was a huge floor covering in the House of the Faun. It was relocated to the National Museum in Naples for protection and display. Representing flora and fauna along the Nile River, it is further evidence of Egyptian influence in Pompeii (as well as in the rest of the Greek and Roman world of the first century).
