Shortly before our departure on Tuesday, 29 August 2000, we left a set of our car keys with
Angelique's mother-in-law, Roberta Moses, so she could take our car home from the airport.
Our flight left Fort Smith on time and landed at the Dallas-Fort Worth airport at 2:15 p.m. The
flight was surprisingly turbulent with clear skies. For the first time, Jeannie tried wearing the wrist
bands that are supposed to prevent motion sickness. She also took a Dramamine, but, as usual
when flying on small planes, got sick to her stomach.
Getting to the terminal for our British Airways flight out of Dallas was more challenging than we
anticipated. The plane was boarding when we finally found the gate. The flight departed on
schedule around 3:30 p.m. for the non-stop 9-hour trip to London.
The plane was a Boeing 777. It's the first airplane we've been on which had a TV screen in the
back of every seat. The seats even have cup holders. Every passenger was given a toothbrush,
toothpaste, and socks, along with headphones for listening to music or any of several different
video programs.
After supper was served, we each took a sleeping pill. The dosage must have been too low, as we
did not sleep very deep nor very long.
